Intercession simply put is, praying on the behalf for others! Below are some prayers to help get you started.
Jesus is the greatest intercessor of all time! Here are some of His prayers:
- Jesus prayed for Peter - Luke 22:32 says, "But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."
- Jesus prayed for those who crucified Him. Luke 23:34 says, "Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.' And they divided up his clothes by casting lots."
- Jesus prayed for His disciples and for Believers throughout eternity in John 17.

God of everlasting love,
you generously provide all things for us.
We pray for people everywhere:
make your way known to them,
your saving power among all nations
(especially we pray for...).
We pray for the welfare of your church here on earth:
guide and govern it by your good Spirit,
so that all who call themselves Christians
may be led in the way of truth,
and hold the faith in unity of spirit,
in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of life
(especially we pray for...).
We commend to your fatherly goodness
all who are afflicted or distressed
in body, mind or circumstances
(especially we pray for...).
Relieve them according to their needs,
give them patience in their sufferings,
and deliver them from all their afflictions.
All this we ask for the sake of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.
For those who are mentally disabled,
that we might cherish the gifts God has given them,
and in their lives hear the voice of our loving God;

For every person who suffers from violence,
and especially for women whose pain breaks their hearts,
that through the intercession of she whose heart was pierced with a sword,

Father in the name of Jesus, I give you glory, honor, and praise. You are our provider, healer and protector, you said in your word that you encamp your angels round about us that fear you and you deliver us. I come before you speaking your covering and protection over us from the works of darkness. Lord bless us to be in position to receive a direct word from you without distraction. Bless our minds and hearts to be focused on you. Remove all outside influences that mean us harm or that will take us off the path that you have set for us. Bless us to know our worth, potential and purpose. I come against confusion, doubt and uncertainty that will cause us to question you. Lord bless us to exercise the authority and the power you have given us to overcome the enemy, we are not defeated but victorious through the blood of Jesus that was shed for us. I speak life, restoration and deliverance to our minds, hearts, and spirits and I break the assignment of the enemy that comes to disrupt your plan for us. You are our peace Lord help us to seek it and pursue it that we may walk in victory. We are more than conquerors through you that love us, so help us to walk as conquerors and be who you called us to be. Thank you for your love for us. In Jesus name amen.
